March 2014

Anything above 40 degrees feels like summer.  So we go out a lot more often.  Trips to the park, the library, and Chick-Fil-A have kept us all happy.  We also make a lot of stops to get donuts after we drop Leo off at school.  I use them to bribe Ace because he cries every morning when we drop off Leo. It is actually sort of cute.

Leo still loves preschool had a little adjusting to do.  After a bad report from his teachers for first semester, Leo has really improved his behavior at school. A combination of me checking with his teachers each day and few times of being grounded (staying in his room until dinner) made him take it seriously.  He now knows we expect him to have not just good days, but GREAT days.  One of my favorite comments from Leo during this time was, "Mom, how many more days are you going to check with my teachers to see if I am good." My response, "Leo, I am going to check with your teachers for the rest of your life."

The biggest things for March this year were Max's Superman Party and Tyler finishing graduate school. Overall, a month worth celebrating!

February 2014

The never ending winter continued with temperatures below freezing all throughout February.  We tried to stay warm by cuddling Rex, watching Paw Patrol, eating apples and bread, and doing a few Valentines Day crafts.

Ace eats apples and slices of bread all day.  He just helps himself and walks around munching away.

This big kid loves tummy time and is starting to roll.

In February we learned about St. Valentine, made cards for Leo's classmates,  and baked cookies!

Rex Joseph's Baptism

For all intents and purposes, Rex's baptism should have been a total disaster.  Three cases of hand-foot-mouth disease, a last minute day change, forgetting to send invitations, a snow storm, and major acid reflux were just a few of the challenges that made the baptism crazy.

So, why would I consider it the best baptism yet?  Well, just like our faith the baptism was a journey.  If we try all those ups and downs can bring us closer to Christ by offering it up to Him. Finding Christ in the reality of life, no matter how crazy. If we can look past the distractions, we see the joy of Christ in the little things. We sure did have lots of joy during the baptism.  An intimate baptism with just Grandma and Grandpa Fathbruckner, Grandma and Grandpa Winner, Great Grandma and Grandpa, and of course Rob and Tanya.  There were lots of jokes from Father and the atmosphere was relaxed and happy.   Great Grandma Winner got to hold Rex and they had a great time bonding.  We then had a wonderful little party with wine and an adorable cake for our little group.  I'm loving these little moments of joy.
